Thank you for finding your way to my website. I am excited to have you (your student) in my class this year!
I have been teaching math at Irondale High School since the fall of 1999. During that time, I've taught many different classes including all levels of Advanced Algebra, Accelerated Geometry/Advanced Algebra (Squeeze), Geometry, Foundations of College Math, College Seminar, Core Plus Math, and Concepts level math courses. I've also had the opportunity to create and teach a course in Discrete Mathematics which is a non-algebra based class designed to help seniors finish a fourth year of math at Irondale. I earned my Bachelor of Applied Science degree from the University of Minnesota-Duluth, and my Masters in Education from St. Mary's University in Winona, Minnesota. I am also a National Board Certified Teacher in Adolescent and Young Adult Mathematics. National Board Certification is a rigorous professional development experience that has allowed me to reflect on the effectiveness of my practice and to become a better teacher. |
My Family |
My husband, Ted, and I live in Andover with our two kids. Kellen (10th grade) and Ainsley (6th grade). We also have two cats, Stella and Rumble, and a dog Cosmo. The kids are very busy with their activities. Kellen plays baseball and hockey and Ainsley runs and track and field, and plays soccer and hockey. We are all avid Gopher sports fans-especially Gopher Hockey and we are looking forward (hoping??) to see them play in the Frozen Four National Championship again this year.
